Fielding and throwing are two important skills that every baseball player should master. Whether training as a team or on your own, there are exercises which are meant to improve your throwing and fielding techniques. If you are planning on training alone, be sure to have a ready list of modified drills in order to help you practice these two skill sets. All you need is a wall, a glove, a ball and unwavering determination.
Practice fielding by adjusting arm angles. Using a glove and a ball, reach across your body at different levels as to simulate catching line drives and fly balls. Try flipping your glove as fast as you can in order to practice switching from an overhand to an underhand catch and vice versa. If you have a space with a handy wall nearby, you can train yourself to field balls which are not hit directly toward you. Simply take a rubber ball and randomly throw it at any direction toward the wall. Field the ball as it bounces past you.
